"Inclusive Summer Beach Tent in Tyre"

On 14 September 2017, the Lebanese Physical Handicapped Union, in partnership with the Municipality of Tyre, launched the first pilot project in Lebanon, which allows all people of different needs to reach the beach and enjoy marine tourism services, "Beach for All", in an official event in Tent No. 19 on the shore of Tyre’s Nature Reserve.

 The equipped tent had a large audience, including the head of the Federation of Municipalities of Tyre Hassan Dbouk; members of the Municipal Council, the Municipal Committee in charge of procurement &logistics, the representative of the Ministry of Social Affairs Mohammed Hammoud, representative of the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform Najwa Al-Ksaifi, representatives of civil and national society associations in Tyre and the South, in addition to a number of people with disabilities.

"Shield": Towards Vocational Training

The "Tourism for All in Lebanon" team visited “Shield” organization in Jwaya, Tyre district. They held a meeting with the coordinator of the association, Saeed Al Natour on 4 July 2017 to introduce the project and agree on a mechanism for cooperation and coordination for the implementation of vocational training in the Center in Jwaya.

At the meeting, Nada Ozeir introduced the project and the activities that were carried out in the district of Tyre. Al-Natour presented "Shield" and its activities. Shield has expressed its willingness to cooperate in the implementation of any training or activity, and to involve a group of people with disabilities in the planned vocational training.

The training includes computer training and English, in addition to a proposal to implement a course in marketing and social networking.

October 11, 2017, Tyre cultural village hosted Nada Ozeir and Mohammed Khaled from the “Tourism for All Project” in Lebanon and the Lebanese Physical Handicapped Union, in the presence of the representative of SHEILD organization in Tyre, Wafa Wehbi; Safa Watfa and Ali Rifai represented Tyre Cultural village. The aim of the meeting was to introduce the project and agree on a mechanism of cooperation and coordination to provide training and work opportunities for people with disabilities. During the meeting, Tyre Cultural Village administration expressed its willingness to provide training opportunities for people with disabilities in the fields of pottery, glass engraving and jewelry design.
